It is one of the most impressive mounds in Kėdainiai District. Its clear contours and two ramparts can be observed to this day. There are two remaining hills – castle hill and fore-work hill. There is a 1 ha old settlement and a cemetery partially destroyed during the Soviet period near the mound. Or perhaps the very first Šėta was in place of the Mound of the current Sangailai? Up to this day, there are no clear answers when was the name of Šėta first mentioned and where do the origins of this town lie.
