After passing Pilioniai village, there is a mound on the left side of the road, called Švedkapis or Piliukas. It is said that this is where Lithuanians defeated Swedes: most of them died or were burried in this mound. Legend says that the hill was formed when Swedes were burrying their dead soldiers, by pouring the ground on them using their hats. The most beautiful name – the Golden Hill was given to this mound by owners of Naujaupė Manor Girštautai. In around 1930–1934, Vladas Girštautas built a brick chapel with a burial cellar on this hill. St Elena's (this was the name of the founder's wife) rejoicing was celebrated here every year.
